ALCHEMY AND HERMETIC MAILING LIST

NEWSLETTER No 10 - September 1997

Due to my attendance at the Prague conference I have not been
able to announce any new books this month, but I have been able
now to produce a CD-Rom version of the alchemy web site. This
will be of interest to those who wish to study the Web site in detail,
those who live in countries with slow or imperfect connections to
the Internet, or those who have to pay premium rates for telephone
or online charges.

The Alchemy Web Site on CD-Rom

This will only work on Windows95, due to the special structure of the directories.
It also requires a multi-session CD-Rom drive (most drives purchased in the last
three years will be multi-session).
Regrettably it will not work under Windows 3.1 or on the MacIntosh. Also, special
on-line features such as the search engine, (in the Emblems database for example),
will not be functional in this off-line CD-Rom version.

This CD-Rom contains the following folders

1. Alchemy - containing the alchemy web site.

2. Latin - containing a development copy of my Latin translation program.

3. Databases - containing copies of my databases of alchemy books and manuscripts.

This is provided as a service to users rather than as a profit-making venture.
£26.50 (including air mail postage)
£25.00 (Europe or UK postage)

You may purchase it online using your cerdit card from the
Alchemy Web Bookstore

or click the button on the web site home page

Upgrading

The problem of buying an actively developing web site such
as the Alchemy Web site on CD-Rom is that it will quickly become
out-of-date, so I am providing a method for upgrading your disc.

The purchase price entitles you to two low-cost upgrades to the
alchemy web site CD-Rom. A small charge of £5.00 to U.K. and Europe
(£7.00 Air mail worldwide) is made to cover the return postage and
despatching costs.

To upgrade the CD-Rom you must send it back to Adam McLean
in order that the updated version can be written onto your disc.
